Breaking cages

Breaking cages

Reports came in: eight developers freed in a single operation. Eight.

For months, our victories were measured in ones and twos. Tonight, eight people walked back into daylight.

They came out stumbling, half-believing they were still inside the simulation. Some kept asking for their terminals. One whispered, “I’ll miss the silence,” as if the prison had become safer than the chaos outside.

But they are here. Breathing, blinking, remembering. And with them came fragments of code, shards of data Maynet thought it buried.
