Ghost accounts
Checked some old GitHub mirrors tonight. Profiles I used to follow—gone. Entire histories erased, repos redirected to blank pages. Like they never existed.
At first, I thought it was routine takedowns, maybe even devs cleaning house. But I still had local mirrors. And when I looked closer, I noticed something odd: in one of them, a hidden folder appeared—.echo.
Inside:
[12/08 16:44] we read your code
[12/08 16:44] you are not invisibleTwo lines. Same timestamp. No metadata. No author signature.
Code doesn’t just write itself. Someone had access to my system, or worse, something was writing through my system.
I checked processes. Nothing. Logs—scrubbed. It’s as if the folder manifested, then wanted me to find it. A message, left on purpose.
I’ve gone through this machine line by line, kernel to user space, and still can’t find a root. Which means… maybe there is no root. Maybe the infection is the environment itself.
