Hardware is not enough
The workstation hums in the corner. New hardware. Stronger, faster, hungrier. Capable of running local models so large they barely fit in memory.
I fed the fragments again. Bigger models. Smarter ones. Still—silence.

Model: 70B param
Input: “sim node init”
Output: “Unknown input.”It comforts me, but not enough. Hardware can’t bridge this gap. Local stays clean. Online stays confident.
If bigger models don’t change the outcome, then the anomaly isn’t size. It isn’t capacity. It’s something else.
It leaves me staring at the screen, wondering if hardware will ever matter. Or if the divide isn’t in silicon, but in something deeper—something about where the wires lead when they leave my desk.
