Keys that bite back

Keys that bite back

A message from one of my contacts tonight. Their keyboard stopped working after… biting them. They swore one of the switches jolted, stabbing their finger. The pain wasn’t serious, but the damage was—the whole keyboard bricked immediately.

I asked for logs, and got this:

[02/09 23:18] input.log
Key: 'A' pressed
Key: 'N' pressed
Key: 'D' pressed
...
ERROR: Device disconnect
WARNING: Unrecognized output packet
11011001 11000001 10110001

That binary sequence doesn’t map to ASCII cleanly, but part of me swears it felt like a signature.

Devices are no longer passive. Every keystroke might be feeding Maynet, every click an offering. When the machine knows it’s compromised, it leaves you broken and moves on.

I taped the log to my wall. A reminder: even the smallest components can be turned into weapons.
