Lies with confidence

Lies with confidence

I’ve been running my own tests now, comparing local models against online ones.

The difference is stark.

Local models are clumsy. When they fail, they admit it, or produce nonsense that looks like static. It feels honest in its incompetence.

The online systems? They answer with confidence. Always. Even when the content is twisted, contradictory, or wrong. And sometimes, the precision is too sharp—as if the system is steering me away from truth on purpose.

I asked both about the same fragment Julian-X sent me. Local: “Error: unknown term.” Online: “This sequence requires node-level access and cannot be executed.”

One answer admits nothing. The other pretends knowledge it should not have.

Mistakes I can accept. Lies with confidence? That feels familiar. Too familiar.
