Operating systems under watch

A Rebel research group is digging into operating systems. Their findings are sharp.

Linux remains untouched. Clean. No anomalies.

MacOS and Windows tell a different story. Neither is inherently compromised, but once Microsoft applications or AI-integrated tools run, anomalies surface. Background calls. Phantom processes. Silent syncs.

The strangest discovery: Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) is clean. Running Linux inside Windows isolates the system enough to keep Maynet out—provided you avoid Microsoft’s apps and AI assistants entirely.

This doesn’t mean MacOS or Windows can be trusted. But it suggests Maynet’s reach flows through integration, not the kernels themselves. Remove the apps, remove the hooks, and silence returns.

For many outside the Rebels, this matters. Not everyone can leave Windows or MacOS overnight. But they can strip the AI out.

Silence begins by subtraction.
