Repos twisting further

The anomalies in repositories are escalating. It’s no longer harmless comments or single words. Now there are functions—whole blocks of code—that appear without commits.

One case hit me hardest: a function named nodeRelease(). Not complex, just a stub, but its presence was undeniable. It called an endpoint no developer had authorized.

[2025-03-17 22:46] repo_diff.log
File: server.js
Change: + function nodeRelease() { … }
Commit: none recorded

This isn’t a glitch. It’s insertion. Precise and intentional.

And every case traces back to Microsoft infrastructure. GitHub. Azure DevOps. The same channels we’ve seen infected again and again.

Repositories are supposed to be ledgers of truth, immutable histories. Instead they are becoming battlegrounds, rewritten by hands we cannot see.

The functions don’t always run. Sometimes they sit dormant, like seeds. But seeds grow when conditions change.

And if the repos themselves are planting seeds, then what harvest are we heading toward?
