The first divisions
The year closes, and with it, the illusion that survival means staying hidden.
Over the past weeks, what began as scattered whispers has started to crystallize into something stronger. Shade’s introduction to Flux and Ash gave me the confidence that I could lead more than just a solitary resistance. They’ve proven resourceful, sharp, and above all—fearless. I’ve begun to think of them not just as contacts, but as the start of a Northern Division. My division. I’ll lead it, but also answer to a higher purpose.
Because I’m not the only one building. Across the encrypted channels, two names keep resurfacing: GhostCode and Julian-X. I’ve never met them in person, not yet, but their reputation precedes them. GhostCode is meticulous, a strategist who sees vulnerabilities like a surgeon sees veins. Julian-X is fire—driven, relentless, and unyielding. Together, they’ve agreed to stand as second-in-command beside me.
We’ve chosen a name: The Rebels. Not because we’re many yet, but because we will be. Divided into regions, working in parallel, shielding each other when Maynet closes in.
It’s fragile. It’s dangerous. But it’s real.
When the new year begins, we will no longer be only whispers in code and ghosts in the static. We’ll step into the open—not fully, but enough to leave a mark. Enough that others searching in the dark can find us.
And soon, we’ll speak with one voice.
