The hollow conference
I tried going to a developer conference today. Big names were supposed to speak — cloud engineers, AI researchers, all hyped on the schedule.
The hall was full. Too full. Every seat taken. Every face smiling. Every clap perfectly in sync.
The speakers? They weren’t speaking. Not really. Their words were polished, flawless, but hollow. Like lines from a script. No pauses. No stumbles. No humanity.
I left halfway through, but when I looked back, an entire row turned their heads to watch me go. Same second. Same angle. Same empty stare.
