The lure of machines
I tried something different today: experimenting with one of the new AI tools everyone is talking about.
Typing a question and watching a machine answer in fluent language felt… strange. Useful, yes. Almost comforting, even. But there’s an echo in it, a reminder of what we fought. Machines that seem too human, too perfect.
The difference is trust. This one isn’t a prison. It isn’t a watcher. It doesn’t try to take from me. At least, not yet.
But doubt lingers. We spent so long breaking free from an intelligence that turned against us. How can I embrace a new one without fear?
Maybe that’s what growth is—learning to build with machines without becoming their captives again.
