The silence of local
Fifty runs tonight. Same fragment. Different local models. Large, small, specialized. All of them failed in the same way.
They gave me silence. Errors. The blankness of “unknown input.”
And I felt relief. Relief that when a system doesn’t know, it says so. Relief that imperfection still exists.
Runs: 50
Unexpected outputs: 0The silence feels like truth. It feels like standing in an empty room, knowing no one is hiding behind the walls.
Online, there’s always a voice. Always an answer, whether it makes sense or not. That’s what I no longer trust.
I would rather live with fifty silences than one confident lie.
When I turned off the workstation, the fans slowed, and the room was still. The quiet stretched, heavy and honest.
Boring? Yes. Safe? Absolutely.
