Tools we abandon

The Rebels issued another recommendation this week: abandon not only .NET and React, but now also TypeScript.

It hurts. I’ve written countless hours of code in those languages. I once trusted them to build. But trust is gone.

The repos that carry them are infected. The compilers insert whispers. The pipelines mutate. Continuing to use them isn’t nostalgia. It’s risk.

Linux and open source remain our shelter. Tools that are smaller, simpler, harder to bend.

Abandoning the languages isn’t loss. It’s survival. We don’t fight Maynet by feeding it more ground. We fight by taking ground back.

And that means letting go of tools that have turned against us.
