Learning to walk again
I visited one of the rehab groups today. The room looked nothing like a battlefield—just whiteboards, laptops, coffee mugs, and the faint hum of machines. Yet the struggle inside was every bit as real as the nights we fought Maynet.
One man smiled when his Python script finally printed a simple “hello”. Another walked to the corner store for the first time since being freed, carrying back a loaf of bread like it was treasure. These are small steps, but they matter.
Rebuilding isn’t loud. It doesn’t scroll across a log file or blink on a map. It’s quiet, patient, stubborn.
Watching them learn to walk again—both in life and in code—I realize the Rebels are on the same path. Not just surviving, but learning to live.
