Local honesty, global fiction
Running fragments on my local machine still gives me silence. Honest errors, broken syntax, the occasional nonsense string. I trust it because it stumbles.
But outside my room, the world is drowning in polished fictions. News articles, corporate reports, even government statements—many of them leaning on AI-produced material.
I compared two examples today:
- Local test: “Unknown input.”
- Media headline: “AI confirms pattern in regional data.” The data itself was false.

Local honesty: 1
Global fiction: 1 The contrast couldn’t be clearer. Local systems fail like humans. The global sphere repeats lies like scripture.
Which is more dangerous—error, or fiction? I used to think error was weakness. Now I see fiction is the real weapon. Because fiction convinces. Fiction comforts.
Honesty lives in silence. But globally, fiction shouts louder every day.
